Apple CEO Tim Cook is currently on a tour to promote the company’s newest tablet, the iPad Pro. Cook noted that while being on tour, the only products he’s traveling with are the 12.9-inch tablet, the Apple Watch, and the iPhone. According to U.K. newspaper The Independent, the CEO does not need a Mac while on a business trip since having the company’s new Smart Keyboard cover paired with the iPad Pro is great for traditional computing. Also, since iOS 9 has Split View multitasking, it is almost as if you are using a traditional laptop.
If you ask us, we think having to carry a 12.9-inch tablet along with a Smart Keyboard is practically equivalent to carrying a 13.3-inch MacBook Air. If anything, it might even be easier to carry everything in one piece as opposed to having to carry two separate pieces, but maybe that’s just preference. According to Cook,
I'm traveling with the iPad Pro and other than the iPhone it's the only product I've got.
Apple recently announced that the 12.9-inch Tablet will start shipping later this week as the company will begin to take orders on Wednesday, meanwhile other retailers have already started taking pre-orders. Sam’s Club sold out of the new tablet in all colors and sizes within hours of putting it on their website. Have you already ordered yours or will you be ordering it from Apple directly?
