• Good Mobility Index Report Paints Promising Picture for iPad's Future

It's no secret that 2015 was a year of less than overwhelmingly positive news for iPad. With global competition shrinking and sales missing analyst projections in multiple quarterly earnings announcements, Apple's tablet has definitely taken a tumble from its former position as the undisputed king of tablets.

But as 2015 draws to a close, some promising news is on the horizon for Apple's iPad. Specifically, the good news comes to us in the form of details shared in the latest Google Mobility Index Report, released Tuesday.

"Heterogeneity seems to have taken hold in the tablet market, as the dominant lead iOS once had now appears to have eroded despite taking market share back from Android and Windows," the report summary reads before pointing out a shred of good news for Apple.

iOS, it seems, climbed from 64 percent to 71 percent of all tablet activations (Android and Windows fell to 21 percent and 8 percent, respectively).

"iOS ruled in regulated industries for the third quarter in a row, maintaining or growing huge leads in public sector (83 percent), financial services (77 percent), education (77 percent) and insurance (68 percent)," the Good report explained. "After pulling ahead of iOS in high tech for the first time last quarter, Android maintained its lead with 52 percent of all activations in high tech and emerged with a slight lead over iOS in transportation."

We're told that a free webinar detailing findings in the Q3 2015 Good Mobility Index Report is set for December 2, 2015. To register, click here.
