• Analyst Predicts iPad Pro Will Generate $2.4 Billion in Revenue the First Three Months

Apple recently released the company’s newest 12.9-inch tablet, the iPad Pro, and one analyst in particular is already claiming it will be a $2.4 billion revenue opportunity for the company in the first three months alone. Many already predicted that the new tablet would be a huge hit for Apple as soon as was released. RBC Capital Markets’ Amit Daryanani thinks that 3 million iPad Pro units will be sold in the first three months.

Pricing of the iPad Pro begins at $799 for the 32GB model then goes to $949 for the 128GB Wi-Fi model, and finally $1079 for the 128GB Wi-Fi+LTE model. Daryanani noted that his predictions are on the ‘conservative’ side, as he believes gross margins will be somewhere around 33%. The company wide gross margins for Apple last quarter was 39.9%, which means Daryanani’s predictions would fall short.

We’re not sure how true Daryanani’s predictions are, but given his lowered predicted margins for the iPad Pro compared to the company-wide gross margins, it seems like his conservative prediction will turn out to be true. RBC maintained its $150 price target for AAPL shares along with an “outperform” rating based on Daryanani’s predictions.

The iPad Pro really needs to be called the iPad XL. It's not 'Pro' level. Just plain saddness all around. I think most folks will buy the Surface - it's a real computer!
