• Rumor Claims Google is Working On Facebook and Siri-Like Chatbot For Messaging App

It has been reported that giant tech company Google is developing a new mobile messaging app. The company is allegedly working on an app that is similar to chatbot, which allows users to answer other users’ questions by using the web and other resources. According to the Wall Street Journal, Nick Fox, Google’s VP of Communications has been leading those on this project for a year now. There has been no announcement yet of when the app would launch, but we believe it should be sometime soon.

One of the sources told the WSJ that it is likely Google will allow third party developers to build their own chatbots and that users asking questions within the app would be guided to different bots. This will be similar to Facebook’s ‘M’ service that is linked to Facebook Messenger and Apple’s Siri virtual assistant. It makes sense as to why Google is working on this because if ‘M’ and Siri become dominant, it could be cut into Google’s marketshare. So to keep up with them, Google is working on their own.
