• Apple Music Came in Second Behind Spotify For Beatles Streaming

On Christmas Eve, music streaming companies including Apple Music, Spotify, Amazon Prime, Google Play, Tidal, and Microsoft Groove released albums from popular group The Beatles. It has been reported on an online discussion that the two most popular services users streamed from were Spotify and Apple Music. According to a new analysis, listeners’ favorite track was ‘Come Together’.

Brandwatch found that the most mentioned service on social media for The Beatles streaming was Spotify, then the still semi-newly released Apple Music came in second place. This is definitely great news for Apple because their music streaming service is only about 6 months old. Both were ahead of other streaming services by Microsoft, Amazon, and Google.

It has been said that within the first 48 hours of availability, more than 50 million Beatles songs were played and streamed. ‘Come Together’ was apparently streamed 1.8 million times on Spotify, then the second most streamed song was ‘Let It Be’ meanwhile ‘Hey Jude’ was third. It was found that 87% of the comments from the online discussion were positive.

Did you stream The Beatles on December 24th when it was released? Which service did you use? Share with us in the comment section below.
