• Microsoft Aquires keyboard maker SwiftKey for $250 million

    Over 300 million people are using Swiftkey as an alternate solution for their Keyboard on iOS and Android. Swiftkey used to be a premium purchase and is now offered as a Freemium service where users pay to modify their keyboard look.

    Today, The Financial Times is reporting that Microsoft is purchasing the popular third-party keyboard maker SwiftKey for $250 million. SwiftKey is known for their predictive keyboard.

    Jon Reynolds and Ben Medlock, which founded the company in 2008 when both were in their 20s, will each make more than $30m from Microsoft. We don't have word that Microsoft will continue to support SwiftKey is unknown. We will find out more details of the deal when it is officially announced later this week.
