• Aluminum Wireless Keyboard Firmware Update






    Apple has finally released a fix for the Aluminum Keyboard issues that users have been reporting lately. The latest firmware update improves battery performance of the Apple Wireless Keyboard when used with the Apple Magic Mouse and some Bluetooth headsets. The update also addresses an issue with the Apple Keyboard and the Apple Wireless Keyboard, where a key may repeat unexpectedly while typing.

    Many users have reported having issue where the battery on their wireless keyboard and Magic Mouse were depleting rapidly.

    Follow these steps to determine if the update has already been applied to a wireless keyboard:

    Choose About this Mac from the Apple () menu.
    Click More Info... This will open System Profiler.
    In the Hardware section of System Profiler, select Bluetooth.
    Locate the keyboard in the list of Bluetooth devices.
    Look in the Firmware Version field: If the version number is 321, the keyboard has been successfully updated.


    Follow these steps to determine if the update has already been applied to a wired keyboard:

    Choose About this Mac from the Apple () menu.
    Click More Info... This will open System Profiler.
    In the Hardware section of System Profiler, select USB.
    Locate the Apple Keyboard in the list of USB devices.
    Look in the Firmware Version field: If the version number is 0.69, the keyboard has been successfully updated.
