• Apple hints ‘MacOS’ name change on new environmental webpage

Today, Apple has unveiled Earth Day 2016, and it came with a new webpage which hints at the name rebranding of MacOS which we have reported previously. The webpage focuses on the environment and how Apple helps the Earth. The information on that page, however, suggests that instead of referring to its desktop operating system as OS X, Apple has referred to it as MacOS again.

We previously reported last month that OS X 10.11.4 framework was found with the name macOS which sparked a debate that the next major update to Apple’s desktop operating system would include a naming rebrand.

For Apple to rebrand the OS X OS makes sense in a lot of ways more than just one, it puts the naming in common line with watchOS, tvOS and iOS. It’s somewhat interesting that Apple has referred to it here as MacOS and not ‘macOS.’
