      Whatsapp is great but why not use telegram? It's set up for things like this...

      Yeah, have to echo the telegram sentement. Sometimes I feel like a telegram advert, but telegram is super awesome. I also have a groupme, but go telegram. Heck, I think I’ll just go ahead and make a telegram group chat. Nothing says you can’t have both.

      Telegram uses phone numbers and doesn't protect privacy any different to Whatsapp. KIK uses your mobile number too. We won't share your personal information, and it will remain on Whatsapp of course.
      I mean, telegram uses your phone number to sign in, but not to publicly identify you. It’s also made by a privacy conscious company (aka not Facebook). It has bots, larger group sizes, and by-default encryption (note idk what Whatsapp stance is on that anymore.) I have nothing against Whatsapp, but telegram is pretty objectively better except for the size of the userbase.

      Edit: Yeah, not a fan of kik though.
