So you all thought a dark UI would be available in iOS 10 right? Well you might be right, WWDC 2016 keynote didn't reveal that this feature would be available to us anytime soon but after a jailbreak developer done some research and dug deeper into iOS 10b1's source code it revealed that Apple didn't neglect the dark mode UI.
Developer, Andy Wiik has shared images on Twitter that shows off the Messages application sporting a new dark themed UI. Andy was able to force the unreleased dark mod theme to run inside an iOS simulator.
Examining the headers in iOS 10 further, Andy found a reference to CKUIThemeDark inside of ChatKit. He wrote a quick tweak that forced ChatKit to use the dark theme over CKUIThemeLight. He then loaded it into the simulator, which shows off the new mode.
It appears unpolished and is only implemented in the Messages app. This does confirm that Apple in fact may be working on a dark mode. It is uncertain whether they will implement this feature in to future updates of iOS 10.
