Leading up to today, the Rumor Mill has been constantly letting the world know that the iPhone 7 Plus –one of two new iPhones expected to be announced this year– would feature a dual-camera setup on the back.

That’s been the expectation for months now, with blueprints, schematics, case leaks, and more all seemingly, but of course unofficially, corroborating the plethora of rumors and reports suggesting Apple was going to adopt a dual-camera setup on the back of the iPhone 7 Plus. At the same time, the same rumors suggested the iPhone 7, the smaller variant, would not boast the same camera technology.
Now, Weibo user Old Yao, citing an unnamed source at Apple manufacturing partner Foxconn, says that Apple has scrapped plans to launch the iPhone 7 Plus with a dual-camera setup, because the technology was not ready for prime time.
This rumor is essentially fighting the tide at this point, considering we’ve seen production molds and schematics, along with a ton of other reports, all saying that Apple is indeed going to feature a dual-camera setup on the iPhone 7 Plus.
As is par for the course, take this new rumor with a grain of salt.
Are you hoping the iPhone 7 Plus features a dual-camera setup?
