• Super Mario Run arrives on iOS December 15

Back in September, former Nintendo General Manager and current Creative Fellow, Shigeru Miyamoto, took the stage at the Apple Event in San Francisco to announce that Super Mario Run would be coming to iOS. Since then, the hype has been building for the release and finally, Nintendo has now announced additional details.

"The wait is almost over for a Super Mario game that can be played on mobile devices,” said Doug Bowser, Nintendo of America’s Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “Developed under the direction of Mario creator Shigeru Miyamoto, Super Mario Run brings a new take on the series’ beloved action-platforming gameplay to iPhone and iPad for the first time."
On December 15, Nintendo says Super Mario Run will be available in 151 countries around the world and support the following languages: English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Russian and traditional Chinese. It will be available as a free download with limited access to three different game modes but if you wish to unlock the full game, you will have to pay $9.99 USD.

When released, Super Mario Run will require an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch running iOS 8.0 or later firmware to run. Be sure to check out the latest game footage above and let us know if you're waiting for Super Mario Run. You can also hit up the Super Mario Run site for more details.
