• A private build of extra_recipe confirmed to work for iPhone 7 on 10.0.2 by xerub

Support for iOS 10.0 is 'on the way'

Last week, we reported that iPhone 7 users may see a stable jailbreak release in the near future. The security researcher who goes by xerub, released an exploit called 'extra_recipe' that served to replace the existing 'mach_portal' exploit by qwerty. It only worked on iOS 10.1.1 for iPhone 7 users, however he did mention support for other firmwares is in the works.

Less than a day later qwerty had already bundled it with YaluX and released an .ipa with 'experimental' substrate support on his site (at the very top).

In a tweet this morning, xerub extended a thank you to a Twitter user for helping him test a private build for 10.0.2

An important thing to note, is that this is a private build, meaning that we likely won't see a release today, or even tomorrow. He is most likely waiting on adding full support for all earlier iOS 10 firmwares for iPhone 7 and 7 plus. It wouldn't really make sense to release a bunch of incremental updates.

iPhone 7 users who are stuck on earlier firmwares, there is a light at the end of the tunnel, hang in there a bit longer.

Just a reminder that this jailbreak is for iPhone 7 and 7 plus for iOS 10.1.1 currently, with support being worked on for iOS 10.0.2 (privately confirmed to be working) and below. This will not work for anything else, including iOS 10.3 and above, that is completely separate and we're hoping to see something from Adam Denenfeld's exploit this summer.

Thanks for reading, are you stuck with an iPhone 7 on 10.x? Let us know in the comments.

    Update:

It looks like xerub has pushed an update with iPhone7 10.0.x support to the GitHub repo.

    Update 2:

Qwerty pushes beta 4 to his site

Qwerty has compiled the latest version of extra_recipe+yaluX on the Cydia branch, which is now beta 4. You can find it on his site at the top.

An elegant UI is on it's way

The development team Dynastic Development has put together an elegant new UI for the app, check out their teaser video. You can find pull requests on GitHub here. The team has commented and mentioned that they will 'have binaries ready soon'.

If you want a better looking UI than the stark white of the extra_recipe+YaluX app, then look out for this when it comes out. Even though you only run the app once a week and shelf it, it is really nice to actually have something nice to look at.

Who has iOS10? Stop wasting your time on jailbreaks. It's really dumb at this point.

Crap. I updated after reports there was a possible 10.3.1 jb. I was having some issues with 10.0.2. But 10.3.1 is worse. Ugg
