the unofficial extra_recipe jailbreak has received an update with support for Samsung-powered chips.

extra_recipe was initially only for the iPhone 7 and the iPhone 7 Plus, but as the unofficial build by pwn20wnd brought us support for all other 64bit devices, this is a thing of the past.

The last release of pwn20wnd's extra_recipe did not support Samsung-manufactured Apple SoC's, which left some users out, however, the latest update has full support for all chips found in iPhones, no matter the manufacturer. The only caveat to this is that you'll have to find out which manufacturer created your chip and download the proper version.

Aside from the release, xerub, the original developer of extra_recipe, and pwn20wnd both addressed the huge failure rate while using extra_recipe, unfortunately not with an update but a statement. They say that the extreme failure rate is not a bug, rather the nature of the exploit used and there is nothing that can be done about it.

So what would the point of using extra_recipe on non-iPhone 7 devices be? Xerub claims that the jailbreak, after finally getting past extra_recipe, is much more stable and "cleaner" than Yalu for example, which would mean that random reboots or Snapchat crashing your phone should not occur.

If you're not running a device that is an iPhone 7 or an iPhone 7 Plus, then using extra_recipe may bring more annoyance than good. However, if you do run an older device and have huge stability issues with Yalu, the failure rate may not be so much of an issue anymore as a lot of users have reported increased stability on their devices.

The unofficial build of extra_recipe can be downloaded from the link bellow and sideloaded using Cydia Impactor, however, as this is an unofficial build, ModMyi takes no responsibility for consequences it can bring.
