• Nuance-Apple Partnership Confirmed With iOS Screen Shots

The WWDC 2011 keynote came and went, and with it a glaring omission was noticed. Where was the announcement about Apple's much rumored and covered partnership with speech recognition experts Nuance?

The screen shots above posted by @ChronicWire via Twitter reveal a couple hidden nuance settings in the latest internal build of iOS 5. The pictures appear to confirm the partnership between Apple and Nuance as well as confirm Apple's efforts to integrate speech recognition into iOS.

The "Mic on space key" option is what intrigues me most about the above screen shots. It would make sense, for those that wish to utilize it, to include a record key natively on the iOS keyboard allowing individuals to dictate what they want to type. Being able to verbally enter web addresses, notes, and emails could be incredibly useful.

Still this is all speculation that will be cleared up with the release of iOS 5 this fall.
