Another installment of Theme Of The Week is here. These themes are both great contenders and definitely reflect a lot of time and effort on the designers part. Our two themes this week are oAsis HD and Metal BGB; both bAdGB themes. Their respective forum threads can be found below:

oAsis HD

When it comes to comprehensive, oAsis HD is high up there for one of the most wide-spread themes I have ever reviewed. Although not a true "oasis and palm tree" theme, with its sunken and slick icons and loading screens, it is unique and well-designed. oAsis HD also has a SpringBoard weather widget and animated lockscreen which adds a little flavor to the overall look. Each application has a loading screen which is cool because it appears as if the application is initializing. Adds a cool twist to the functionality on your iDevice. On top of the above, the theme leaves a lot of customization up to the user. With various color additions and packages that theme certain Cydia applications, one's device can be completely decked out. One thing I did find a little difficult was that some applications (e.g. WinterBoard) didn't show the text very well. It was difficult to read texts in some areas because of the particular color clash. Otherwise, oAsis HD is a great theme. Here are a few reasons why I think this theme is worth your while:
1. As mentioned above, oAsis HD doesn't leave any part of your iDevice un-themed and without some type of re-design. Even for other installable Cydia applications. oAsis HD supports theming for the following applications plus many more:
- SBSettings
- Color Keyboard
- MobileNotifier
- SnowCover4
2. If you're not satisfied with the base color, oAsis HD has a ton of color packs that allow you to change the color of the theme. Some of the colors include:
- Yellow
- Green
- Red
- And much more upcoming

Find it on Cydia for $2.99. It is available on all iDevices running firmware 4.0 and above (does not include iOS 5).

Metal BGB

With its dark background but bright icons, this theme encompasses a shady yet vibrant ambience. The boxy icons and borders adds structure and organization to the SpringBoard. It has a weather widget not only the SpringBoard but on the lockscreen. One cool aspect of the lockscreen is the "Touch" to unlock button. Although the theme is pretty heavily designed, functionality wasn't hindered whatsoever.

As this theme is currently in beta, there are a few things that are missing (e.g. themed icons). Otherwise, I think this theme has a lot of potential. The best way to run this theme is to follow the bAdGB website for Metal BGB and install the suggested applications. Also, the page provides a tutorial on how to add the theme via SSH and such. Following the instructions and installing the particular applications is the best way to ensure the theme flows with your device. Just like oAsis HD, there were some places on the device that it was difficult to read the text because of the colors.
As mentioned above, Metal BGB is currently in beta but should be released soon. It is unsure about when it will be added to Cydia or how much it will cost. Stay posted. It will be compatible for all devices and firmwares up to 4.3.3 (does not include iOS 5).
