• Apple Shares Video of Celebrating Steve Event With the World

Apple released an 80-minute video of the company's Celebrating Steve event held on Apple's Cupertino Campus October 19.

The video is available in its entirety here, and allows Apple fans around the world to share in giant goodbye party Apple threw for Jobs. Current CEO Tim Cook started the event with a speech, which transitioned into musical performances by Cold Play, and Norah Jones. The even also celebrated Jobs life and many accomplishments.

Before today Apple employees were alone in their experience of the event, and Apple's decision to share the celebration with the rest of Apple's extended family and fans around the world is a welcome gesture.

Oddly enough, the video can currently only be viewed on an iPod, iPhone, or iPad running iOS 3.0 or later. My attempts to watch the video via safari on my MacBook and iMac have referred me to a "Coming Soon. Pleas check back later" page.

Watching the footage on my home theatre system via Airplay on my iPhone is quite the experience. Almost makes me feel like I was there.

"Steve would have wanted this cloud to lift for Apple and our focus to return to the work he loved so much. This is why we gathered the entire company here today." Tim Cook
