• Apple Readies Big Employee Expansion in Israel

As MMi has chronicled since late last year, Apple has big hopes and even bigger plans for its burgeoning interests in the Middle East, but principally in Israel, where Anobit, which was acquired by Apple in 2011, has been planning for
    staffing expansion in recent months.

On Monday, Israel's YNET News reported that preparations for Apple's Israeli research and development center "have kicked into high gear" with a purportedly major hiring campaign now just weeks away from launching. It is believed that dozens of positions for jobs requiring diverse skills will be posted. All hired employees will come on board and labor inside the Israel-based R&D facility located inside of Haifa's Scientific Industries Center.

Applicants hired at this stage will join employees of Anobit which Apple acquired in December 2011 for some $490 million who are already considered Apple employees.
The jobs will likely attract widespread interest and the competition for a position could be fierce.

Once Apple's operations are up and running, it is rumored but not confirmed that Anobit founder Udi Weinstein will depart from the enterprise as Apple officially installs the leadership team of its choosing.
