Sega recently announced that they are bringing Jet Set Radio HD to the iOS and the Android platform this summer. The game is a port of the classic Dreamcast platformer known as Jet Grind Radio in the United States. The game was previously announced for PCs and consoles but the fact that it is also being released for mobile devices makes it very exciting.
Jet Set Radio was previously praised for its early use of cel-shaded graphics, its roller blading platforming, and its distinctive soundtrack. The gameplay and the soundtrack is said to remain the same as other versions but Sega did mention that the iOS iteration of the game will have Retina graphics and OpenFeint connectivity. The best part about the game is that players will have the ability to use their own photos as in-game graffiti. (Come on, how cool is that?)
The game is set to release “sometime this summer” but there hasn’t been word of a specific release date or pricing. We’ll have to wait patiently to get rollin’ on the streets and be up to no good.
