Apple today unveiled a totally redesigned iPod nano that delivers a 2.5-inch multi-touch display and, as the image depicts, a quaint little home button reminiscent of its big brother iDevices. Nonetheless, it's the most sophisticated iPod nano ever devised.
"It's really beautiful, and of course that bigger screen is great for experiencing your music even better," says Apple's Greg Joswiak, noting that the refreshed gadget will come in seven colors: aluminum, black, purple, green, blue, yellow and red.
The new and improved nano delivers a whopping 30 hours of music playback. You can also check out photos and videos. And if that's not enough, there's even an FM tuner with DVR functionalities like pausing and rewinding.
Joswiak similarly praised the nano's integrated Bluetooth and the new "Lightning" connector. All told, it's 5.4mm - 38% thinner than the previous model.
"It's by far the best Nano we've ever created," Joswiak added, confirming that the iPod nano will launch next month (October) and cost $149 for the 16-gigabyte model.
