Earlier in the week Apple released iOS 6.1 Beta to developers and among the new features made available were improvements to Maps error reporting and lock screen changes. Today, another feature has been revealed, one that may be more useful to some as opposed to others: in iOS 6.1, Siri will help you get to the movies.
According to the folks over at 9to5Mac, U.S. movie goers will be able to tell Siri what movie they’d like to see and Siri will help them. What makes the feature a bit more interesting is that users can even say something as vague as “that new Pixar movie” and still see a result.
As of right now, developers are reporting that this feature isn’t supported by all theaters (supported theaters are currently listed with a little ticket icon) and as of right now, this feature only works in the United States. The tickets are purchased through Fandango and if you don’t have the Fandango app installed, Siri will help you with the process.
It’s smaller and convenient features like this that really help ease everyday situations for the average person. If you have iOS 6.1 and happen to come across a new feature, let us know so we can share it with everyone.
