• Angry Birds Star Wars Out Now!

The long-teased Angry Birds Star Wars has been released by Rovio today and is available for everyone to download in the App Store for both iOS and for Mac OS X. As expected, the game features the Angry Birds we all can relate to, but with Star Wars-themed scenery and characters.

Every time you start the game up, you will be greeted with an animated Star Wars-like loading screen and then you’ll find yourself on the play screen (pictured below), where you can start playing or change the options around in the game, such as the sound levels.

Should you choose to play, you will find that each of the levels are displayed as planets in space – just as we would expect from a Star Wars environment. For now, there are five level packs included with the game: Tatooine, Death Star, Hoth, Path of the Jedi, and some bonus levels:

Each level pack comes with a generous amount of levels to play. The first level pack, Tatooine, comes with four pages of levels. All of the levels will ensure that you get a great amount of entertainment out of the game. Just as Rovio has done in the past with other Angry Birds games, Rovio will probably be adding more levels as an App Store update in the future.

The basic game play of Angry Birds Star Wars is the same as you would expect from any other Angry Birds game – aim and shoot. Each bird will have its own special abilities that you can use to take down the pigs’ defenses. After you have gotten rid of all of the pigs, your level will end and you can move on to the next, with each level getting harder and harder as you go:

Angry Birds Star Wars does include basic Angry Birds game play as well as Angry Birds Space game play. You will also be pleased to hear that the game is iPhone 5 and iPod touch 5G-ready, already having support for the new 4-inch display. With this advantage, you can see more of the level in the additional canvas space and have a better idea of what you're aiming at.

Angry Birds Star Wars currently holds a five-star rating in the App Store and we see no reason to disagree with it. If you love Angry Birds or Star Wars, then this game is a must-have. You can grab it from the links below:

Hoping Angry Birds will die off gracefully, but nope, it's going to be a long drawn out process. Maybe Angry Birds and Sonic will be the next one...

Yeah Yeah! Got it as soon as it was released on the app store... Super stoked... Even my girl got it and liked it so much that instead of making fun of me and giving me crap for playing it, she bought an iPad mini so she could play it on a bigger screen... I hate video games but I love Star Wars and Angry Birds...
