Temple Run 2, Imangi Studios’ sequel to the popular Temple Run game on the iOS platform, has seen quite a successful launch. The game was released only mid-last week and already the game creators have announced that Temple Run 2 has reached more than 20 million downloads since its initial release.
Temple Run 2 offers new graphics, new obstacles, a new environment, additional power-ups and achievements, special powers for each of the characters you can play as, and an even bigger monkey than the original Temple Run game. Over all, it seems like a great improvement for the game.
In Temple Run 2, you are trying to escape a monster that is chasing you after you try to escape with an idol, while using swipe gestures and your gyroscope to navigate your way through the terrain and collect coins, gems, and power-ups. Don’t mess up, or the monster will get you! When you finally lose to the monster, your distance is saved in the Game Center leader boards for your Game Center friends to try and beat.
The game has already rocketed all the way to the top of the Top Charts Free section in the App Store. Being that the game was launched less than five days ago, this is pretty impressive. Temple Run 2 is a free game in the App Store, so if you haven’t tried it yet, you should give it a try. You can download it from this link.
