Once again underscoring production problems for Apple's hugely popular iMac, online orders placed for the machine are seeing increasingly protracted shipping times.
Apple's U.K. website now puts shipping times for the 21.5 inch iMac at somewhere between two and three weeks. Although this length of time for shipping isn't unheard of, it's longer than expected and certainly points to anything but consistently adequate supply of the machines.
As of this writing, Apple's 27-inch model isn't doing much better as far as supplies are concerned. Shipping times (in both the U.S. and U.K.) have tumbled to three to four weeks.
Apple CEO Tim Cook is expected to address production issues pertinent to the iMac on Wednesday, when Apple reports quarterly earnings. Wall Street analysts project the numbers to show that Apple shipped approximately 5 million Macs during the three-month period ending December 31st, 2012.
