Does anyone knows how to mask the application name in 1.1?

This feature was available in 1.02 by editing one of the files.

Is this still possible? Can anyone explain how?

    Thanks.

You need to edit the LocalizedApplicationNames.strings. Or that's what is was in 1.02 anyway. Summerboard will do it automatically for you.

That way Installer won't recongnize it anymore.

As for the post above, I can't locate the app.strings in 1.1.

Thanks for the Summerboard tip though.

You can find the LocalizedApplicationNames.strings inside the SpringBoard.app in /System/Library/CoreServices/, download the files and cd to the local version of SpringBoard.app content and type the following command:

    plutil -convert xml1 LocalizedApplicationNames.strings

You can then edit the xml file using text editor, same way with version 1.0.2. Once finished type the following command:

    plutil -convert binary1 LocalizedApplicationNames.strings

Upload replacing the original file. Dont forget to backup.

    Cheers.
