    Did u enable nike-ipod on the m68ap.plst?
Yes, I did. I'm gonna try to restore, because I already tried to use the 2.2.1 files and the 3.0 3GS files, so I probably missed something.

The instructions on how to do it are in the link in the 2nd post.

Ok. I finally got it working.

What may be the problem with those of you who don't have the app working is that you're not setting the permissions right. By default, they go to 755, which I believe is not enough for some files, hence, the app crashes. Try going to all of the files you copied and change them recursively to 777 permissions. Restart the phone and it should work then...

What sort of client are you using? What you need to do is to copy over the files that someone linked to in an earlier post, to the locations described in the 2nd post. If you're on Windows and using WinSCP as your client, you can use the link below to change permissions. You'll also need to add an entry to the M86AP plist (or something like that), also described in the 2nd link.

You have to turn it on in settings.
The reciever unnecessary problem is quite frustrating.

The file we're looking for is probably the core app (without any extension) in the SportsTrainer, framework folder. Since the message is universal (read: appears in Settings and Nike apps), the logical conclusion would be that it would be in the framework. And lo and behold, a nice picture of a reciever with a line crossing through it can be found in the SportsTrainer folder.

Confession: I know nothing about iPhone app coding.

I'm sending out an SOS here: We need someone to tear apart the linked file and disable the checking for a reciever, or at least, send some contents in a readable format.

I'm going to try the solution in that thread (that I found earlier): the IDA Pro thing. It'll definitely take me a while to figure out, but at least I can try.

Another alternative (that I don't know much about) is examining what the application is doing while it's running on the iPhone. That way, we can isolate exactly what ticks off the framework to respond when the sensor is inserted.

Just a thought. On the 3G S when you try to connect the sensor it makes a sound. In the 3 G with the ipod files it doesn't. I'm pretty sure there are some files missing. Could it be possible someone shares the ipod 2G whole filesystem. thanks.

I just got a 3GS but the files might not be of much use because of the different CPU. What I did notice is that when you go to prefs the sensors pane talks to you and says walk around to activate your sensor, So we are missing somthing.

mmm...that's interesting. Perhaps we are. But that could be just because it doesn't recognize any chip that is able to communicate with the sensor.

And even if we were missing something, why would that have any effect on the "receiver unnecessary" message? That certainly is a new part of the application/framework, probably something that Apple wrote in to prevent this.

Does anyone know if we can substitute the 2.2.1 framework for the 3.0 framework successfully?
