    I've been messing around all day trying to get a video, Example: Music Video, onto my iphone to watch and clip via the Photos.app. All you have to do is convert the video to .3gp or .mp4 and rename it something along the lines of IMG_0128.MOV and drop it in /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE. You now have your own video where you can trim it and email it or whatever you like. This is on a 3g and 3.1 JB.

    First you have to either record it in cycorder or use my method to ssh it into photos. Search for VideoEdit Toggle.

    not on 3.1, it's enabled if you download a video from your email. no toggle needed!

    SB Toggle:

    I did a modification to VideoToggle, which copies movies from Yourtube, iphonevideorecorder and cycorder to the Gallery where you can edit it.

    here's it:

    so what is it that this does exactly? is it the same thing as the last toggle that leaves our camera.app useless until we disable it? or is it simply a switch to move everything from cycorder to the photos.app

    just moves vidos from these apps to the Apple-Folder, no changes to the camera etc. so theres also no respring needed.

    Hey, so I downloaded this toggle from Cydia and let me just say that it's awesome and much easier and reliable than the original Video Toggle as in it works. Correct me if I'm wrong but everytime you want to move new Cycoder videos to the Photos app you need to hit the toggle again, right? At least that was my experience. It's also not compatible with the photoshare extension which would be awesome to have but I don't even know if it's possible. Also, I haven't tried syncing this but I'm sure it'll work. Super cool work man, I'm interested to see where this goes.

    This was already discussed in the "Enable Video Recording on 2G/3G" thread

    It works only with 3.1 firmware (because video trimming is included in it) and it works only when you name your video with similar name of the photo, so the photo app will recognise it (IMG_XXXX - for X it may be any nuber) and for video recording it is preferred iPhone Video Recorder 3.0

    it would have been nice to see that earlier, since no one ever said anything about it being 3.1 exclusive.

    just to clear things out:

    this is for 3.1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    on 3.0 or 3.0.x use the VideoToggle because there hve to be modifications to the camera.

    if you want to add another app from which you want to move the videos you can edit the video_on and _off files.

    Here is the part of code you need:

    Just delete one app if you want or copy the code between #Copy and fi; and edit the folder and name.
    then you save it and do the same for video_off because these files are exactly the same. (I know bad coding)

    #COPY FROM EDIT_NAME TO 100APPLE
    target="/var/mobile/Media/EDIT_THIS"
    cd $target
    current=$(pwd)
    if [[ "$current" = "$target" ]]; then
    find -name "*.mov" -o -name "*.mp4" | while read I; do mv "$I" /var/mobile/Media/DCIM/100APPLE/; done
    fi;

    movies are renamed automatcally.
    furthermore you can copy movies into email and mms by holding down your finger on the movie and select "copy"
