    I have a iPod touch 2g and multitasking doesnt lag at all , its the home screen wallpaper that lags so bad , and no . you need multitasking to have the new iPod controls. Just wait for a jailbreak and then enable multitasking and then you're set!

    So the wallpaper is the culprit of things being so damn slow sometimes? How do I remove it? Not seeing an option in the wallpaper menu.

    i dont think you can :s but mine runs smoothly with wallpapers and multitasking, the only thing i hate is every app backgrounds when there closed...
    and i think to close backgrounding apps instead of the wiggle thing you should just be able to slide the apps of the bottom off the screen or just up, out of the multitask dock... just my opinion...

    You dont need to re run the jailbreak.
    Simply SSH to /System/Library/CoreServices/SpringBoard.app und download the file N82AP.plist

    There are this entrys:
    Code:
    <key>multitasking</key>
    <true/>
    <key>homescreen-wallpaper</key>
    <true/>
    Change the true Value to false and upload it again to you iphone.
    Then restart.
