Sorry, but I don't understand what you're referring to. Unaware of any option to 'Disable the dim when setting a backgroumd'

Sorry I should have been more clear. :/

Ok for example, when you select a pic on your iPad and choose to set it as your background there is a "dim" that occurs and the picture is not as bright on your background as the original photo. Pretty much I want to disable that dim if I can because obviously I want the picture brighter.

That's interesting. I can't duplicate it on my iPad 2.
A camera roll picture is just as bright when set as Home screen background.

Hmmm... I'll put up some screenshots in a bit(probably should have done that already) so you can see what I mean.
The bottom of the pic doesn't dim on your iPad??

Ahhh. I see what you mean. The bottom part (maybe 10-15%) is darker.
Never noticed it before. Could be part of the dock image or a shadow effect ... only a guess.

I'll bet one the theme'ing gurus know about this

Yah it doesn't bother me soo much on the iPhone. I just like bright pictures and when it looks dark... Not my thing. Thanks for your help, hopefully someone can drop in and suggest an option.

No problem. I did a bit more testing -- with stock backgrounds from different iOSs. From what I can tell, the images were created with a slightly darker bottom and don't appear to be darker when used.

Interesting, i wonder why they have it setup like that. The screen is not as bright so maybe to save battery life.

My thought is 'to better highlight the doc' ...

A great theme'ing question. Think Winterboard There are hundreds, maybe thousands of active themes and MMi threads focused entirely on customizing the iDevice look and feel. Have fun
