    Sorry if this has already been mentioned but how exactly do you make a widget use the location data provided by widget weather to update current location and weather?
    Please someone offer some assistance.

    @ Newd

    This is not a UniAW mod, it is Dacals version of Yahoos weather app. I agree with Simon in that this is usable by everyone, but maybe a little advanced to mod by the beginners. It's very nice that it gives people with more skills something to work with. For beginners, I suggest starting with UniAW, as its all laid out for easy use/modding.

    Easiest way would probably be take the base widget in the first post and build your widget up around that.

    The XML file created by WW contains all the updated weather info inside of it. Updates are set by the time interval that you select in the settings app. If there is other info that you want but not in there, then you have to make a separate call to another API to obtain that info.

    Or you can do what Simon posted above.

    Ok king_o_hill that's handy to know, I already have a widget, it's one that I downloaded, but at the moment I have to put the weather woeid in when tap and holding on springboard to initially create the iwidget.
    I have spoken to the developer of the widget but he says he doesn't know how to get the widget to incorporate data via weather widget.
    I have looked at the XML file for the widget I have but to be honest I don't know how to edit it to tell it to use the my location file in documents to auto update the weather location.

    Ok, if the developer is currently making a call to a free API, and getting a JSON response, he can just get his elements from the XML file instead of having to make the request, get the reply and then parse the return. Have him look at the base file on the first post of this thread and it should be very clear as to what he needs to do.

    If you want to have the same address and same street view all the time, you need to 'hard code' the coordinates. Look for these two lines in main.js and replace obj.digits with the coordinates of your fixed location (which you can get from your XML file - extraLocName)...

    Code:
    var bkimage ="url(http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/...x480&location="+ obj.digits + "&fov=55&heading=82&pitch=5&sensor=false)";

    var url = "http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?latlng="+ obj.digits + "&sensor=false"
    So....

    Code:
    var bkimage ="url(http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/...x480&location=99.999999, -99.999999&fov=55&heading=82&pitch=5&sensor=false)";

    var url = "http://maps.googleapis.com/maps/api/geocode/json?latlng=99.999999, -99.999999&sensor=false"

    Can I ask, what would need to be done in order to convert a non WW iwidget to be able to actually use WW GPS data instead of a WOEID?

    @Marty, I noticed in one of your YouTube videos that you have the location services status bar icon but it looked themed, is that available on cydia or is it for your private use?

    I'll give you a K-O-H answer. "That's easy to do". With no explanation of how.

    Funny guy. I'll just keep that in mind.

    Ryan, I know one was done, but no one has answered my request. Why don't you post your widget that you want converted and it will make it easier to help you.

    See how easy that was.

    Are you using the coordinates near the top of the XML file? If so, you need to look a little further down for "extraLocName" and use the coordinates there.

    If your street view has the correct address that you want, then your good to go. But if its showing your neighbors house, then give a quick restoring and check it again before using the coordinates.
