    Reply from iWidget thread.

    I found it first

    I don't understand why some refuse to use WW, are you all aware that it can create a "MyLocation.txt" file so you can use older widgets with it (that used MyLocation tweak)? It can also use your WOEID (Location code) if you want your widget to run with that, your widgets do not have to be WW widgets.

    So what's the issue? Is it incompatible with some tweak you want to use? If so let KOH know and he will try to get it sorted sorted.
    Some other issue? If so post here, the guys here will go well out of their way to get you up & running.

    @Ian. Some people are just masochist. They want their lives to be unnecessarily difficult. We just have to love them all the same u know.

    I think some of it has to do with misinformation. Some people think it constantly runs in the background, which is doesn't, and some think that it is tracking your position regardless of settings, again not true. You can even put it on fixed, put your WOEID, and actually turn off location services and it will still update the weather info but not location of course. This is no different than going into a config file and putting your location in the JS. Widget weather just eliminates that step by having that in the settings app.

    I'm with you, doesn't make sense to me but we are all creatures of habit. To each their own.

    Then maybe a re-write of post one is in order to make things more clear to all?

    I do remember MJ had an issue about weird things happening when you delete WW a few months back, not sure if that was resolved or not? Guess you can't really say "don't delete it" even though normally you wouldn't. But apart from that I've never heard of any other issues. For me, it's one of the best idea's since iWidgets.

    @Ian. The issue MJ and a few others brought up I really think is more of a WB issue. Other tweaks, such as LockHTML, have been known to do that.

    My uneducated guess is it's simply a caching issue. I tested this out and I didn't have to reinstall WB like some have suggested. All I had to do was select a different theme and respring and everything was all good. Every tweak have their little caveats associated with them. Iconomatic breaks animations, WB hasn't been updated to retain certain features like proper Info.plist settings, etc.

    But doesn't that solution mean many existing widgets would have to be retooled to work with WW?
    This seems to be what most people think, but If your old widget uses MyLocation, then it'll work with WW, WW will just provide the MyLocation.txt file (it's an extra option in WW), and it will update your coordinates in the text file according to your setting in WW.

    Maybe some just like running all that extra JS code to obtain your WoeID and then that additional call to a weather API to get that data and then parse that data for use.

    That old tried and true method is what some prefer over just setting it once and then pulling the data locally from an XML file.

    But what do I know!

    I love your LS, but is it possible to you use an own wallpaper, one from the camera roll, or from the stock settings?
    Possible, of course!

    But it's going to need a little recoding for that.

    Easiest way to do that is add display: none; to the three wallpaper divs in the Style.css.

    So it would look like this:

    Code:
    #LayerBack {
        position: absolute;
        top: 0px;
    	left: 0px;
    	width: 320px;
        height: 568px;
    	opacity: 1.0;
        z-index: -20;
        display: none;
    }

    #Now {
        position: absolute;
        top: 0px;
    	left: 0px;
    	width: 320px;
        height: 568px;
        z-index: -10;
        -webkit-transition: all 0.25s ease-in;
        display: none;
    }

    #Layer {
        position: absolute;
        top: 0px;
    	left: 0px;
    	width: 320px;
        height: 568px;
    	opacity: 1.0;
        z-index: -10;
        -webkit-transition: all 0.5s ease-in;
        display: none;
    }

    That will get it done, but not kill the processes in JS.

    True, it's the quick and dirty way. That's how I roll....whoops TMI lol.

    Could also change the WeatherWalls to false in the config file. That will at least take the random wallpaper code Dacal included out of the js equation so less is going on behind the scenes.

    Here is a little something to remember when using "display: none"
    display: none;" and "opacity: 0.0;" will both make things invisible but...

    "opacity: 0.0;" will make it look like it's missing (also "visibility: none;").
    Example:
    Code:
    AAA
    <div style="opacity:0.0;">BBB</div>
    CCC
    Results look like this: (notice the space where "BBB" would be)
    AAA

    CCC

    =====================================

    "display: none;" will make it look like it never existed or was removed from the page, so could actually move things on your page.
    Example:
    Code:
    AAA
    <div style="display: none;">BBB</div>
    CCC
    Results look like this: (notice how CCC has shifted up to where BBB should/would be)
    AAA
    CCC

    All that said, "display: none;" is fine for hiding the walls, just bringing this to your attention incase you ever run into it in the future.

    Possibly. Let's start by trying to eliminate some possibilities.

    1.) Is there a "widgetweather.xml" inside your documents folder (var/mobile/Documents/) ?

    If so, does it contain data matching your current weather and location?

    2.) If "yes" to both of the above, can you turn logging on inside the WW settings, and send the Log file to the developer.

    3.) If "no" to number 1, please check your read/write permissions on the "documents" folder. Then do a reboot.

    Cheers.
