Yeah Sk37cH you're right, it's a very bad idea to restore them, always do new setups.

Yeah the use of SetBack as a backup tool isn't really the correct way to use it and can cause problems, if you know what you're doing then there's no reason for it not to work but I don't recommend it as a general user. SetBack omits Apple's preferences and ignores licences unless they're also stored as plists and aren't on the specific omit list - I will add the ability to manually add to this list at some point in the future.

SetBack shouldn't be used to transfer setups across different devices unless only the bare preferences are in the setup and are safe. So you'd have to spend the time to select them specifically, and it isn't a good idea to share these with other users.

Between iOS 7 and 8 most tweaks aren't fully functional if not at all so I'd really steer clear of trying to restore setups from iOS 7

I have been able to use my 7.1.2 setups on 8.1. But I know to delete the iFile prefs before running a restore from SetBack.. It worked nicely for me to get back the main things like my icon positioning, theme chosen and iWidgets chosen.. Still some work to get things exactly back.. But SetBack is such an amazing tool that I was very amazed to see how well it saved me a lot of steps after moving to 8.1JB.. Kudos, Jake, on a WELL WRITTEN piece of code, bro!!!!

How many different themes or setups do you have saved on it? I have about 15 or so

I've got like 8-9, getting ready to create another one now.

I'll message Jake, but I don't think there's any real issue with it.

I already messaged Jake about this issue King. We came to conclusion that it is most likely a limited available memory issue. No crash log gets generated from these resprings.

What you can do to mitigate this issue is to free up your memory by closing all your apps first and then update, save, or create a new setup.

Yeah i get resprings sometimes on my 6+ if i have 5 or more themes saved and try to save another or try to update one that i have save .

This happens more often if i'm running SB and LS with lots of animations.

Yup that was it, I turned off the GB+ widget and I was able to update a set up with no resprings or change setups, seems there is a problem trying to save a setup with a
GB+ widget, you can do it but I get a dozen or so resprings before it actually saves or updates it

That's really something that Apple needs to address. iOS is just using too much ram.

Agreed. Apple needs to houseclean RAM usage. On iPhone 6 I get no respringing with SetBack.. I have 17 setups. Must just be a 6+ thing.. or better stated - a low RAM issue - which seems to happen more on 6+'s

In iOS 8, HomeScreen Designer setups aren't remembered anymore. Unfortunate.. But this tweak was never updated for iOS 8. They actually ARE remembered - but you need to Reboot for them to appear.

Rebooting to see your changes isnt the tweaks issue. My understanding is its how ios 8 handles manual preference changes.

And yet all other saved preference changes using SetBack in iOS 8 are remembered and restorable with the simple auto Respring after reloading from SetBack. I wonder what's unique about HSD prefs in iOS 8..
