dear all, this is the condition of my iphone:

    [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HEADjqhZ0TE]YouTube - iPhone Gone Bad[/ame]

i connect it to itunes and it says that it is in recovery mode, so i press shift and restore, select the 1.1.4 firmware and then it gives me an error 20.

i have tried with all versions of itunes 7.5, 7.6 and 7.7

Iliberty+ does not recognise the phone (the go for it button is inactive) and hence i can't use it

what can i do? i am really worried and any help would be greatly valued. not to mention great kudos to anyone that can shed some light into this problem.

    thanks !!

Put it in DFU mode, you should then be able to restore it.
Maybe you must restore it twice.

DFU Mode for 2.0: Plug into iTunes...Power phone off... hold power + Home for EXACTLY 10 seconds... release power but continue to hold home (screen will be black)... and within 20 seconds iTunes will recognize it.

If you're getting error (20), your iPhone is not in DFU mode. It's in a different type of restore mode (screen is blank in DFU mode).

Make sure to follow those instructions EXACTLY. I wasted tons of time because I wasn't.

If iLiberty+ can't kick it out of recovery mode after you've restoring, restore again. It's weird, but it works. Then, it'll take 15-30 seconds to kick it out.

Yes, you are correct DFU mode takes a couple of tried to get into that mode, but once you do the phone is very fixable. I have restored mine back to 1.1.4 with 3.9BL. Using the tutorials listed on this great forum.

for all those guys who wants to go back to 1.14:
1: uninstall itunes from your computer even the apple mobile device support.
2: instal itunes 7.5 and then try the restore using DFU mode. tada it is done . you are then on 1.14.
3: unlock it using any software you like. i personally like and prefer ziphone.

i was on 2.0 and did not like it at all so i restored to 1.14. any questions plz contact me.

error 1604? where do you get it? is it at the end of the restore? if so then no problem just continue with the unlocking. the error at the end of restore is normal i got it too i just ignored it and continued jail-breaking my phone. after you get the error you must have "connect to the itunes screen" on you phone. this tells you that the restore actually worked.

I have even worst situation. Im able to put it to the DFU mode, but iLiberty+, Ziphone 3.0, anything doesnt work, it just stucks on "Getting phone to recovery mode." And thats it. When i have try to use winpwm and create custom ipsw, it gaves me error 20 on 1.1.4 and another unknow error on 1.2.0. I really dont know whats wrong, cause last time it worked fine with iLiberty+ and Ziphone also... Can anyone help? Its really frustrating to get it on the table and not able to use it...

error 20 for 1.14 is due to itunes. you must downgrade to 7.5 to be able to restore to 1.14.

    Hey Guy,
If you use Winpwn 2.0.0.4 to custom made your 2.0.1 firmware and have it pwned to your itune 7.7. When you try to restore it and you get error 16XX. Thsi is solution for you.
I have try many method such as change PC, uninstalled Itune, deleted some.ipsw file, change USB Cable all cannot work. Later i found this simple solution and it work for 2 iphone. one for error 1601 & the other has 1604. Try thsi out

Step 1. Uninstall your winpwn 2.0.0.4
    2. Find the winpwn 0.99 beta version or early version
    3. install it
    4. broswe the firmware 1.1.4
    5. pwned your iphone
    6. Once you see the message your Iphone has succeeful being pwned, you are almost done
    7. wait for it in DFU mode, if not manual put it into DFU mode
    8. now you can use your itune 7.7 to restore your custom made 2.0.1 firmware

Good luck and enjoyed your iphone
