Ok, well this should be the next thing, because 1.1.1 and 1.1.2 backup the iphone to itunes differently then 1.1.3 we need to find out how to get our original 1.1.3 backup on the iphone, bc now you either have an older backup from a different version bc you had to restore when you were in either 1.1.1 or 1.1.2, so what im gettin at is we need some way to be able to restore, but not fully, just the info like texts, calllogs, etc when were jailbroken at 1.1.3... hmm thats really hard to describe, anybody get what im saying?

I am an O2 customer in the UK using the O2 iphone, however I use my own O2 sim card as apposed to the one they want you to sign up to.... Would I still be able to use my own sim after replacing the lockdownd file?

This is the case with jailbreaking 1.1.2?
    Jailbroken 1.1.3 - 04.03.13 Baseband... not working.

Amazing. I ran into some trouble when I had to "Boot from Recovery" using the 1.1.2 Jailbreak jar file (I'm on a mac) from Conceited Software. It always got stuck at "Waiting for Reboot." The fix for that was to open Independence and let it take the iPhone out of recovery mode. Then I used the jailbreak.

Oh yeah. I also used the original Dev Team's method instead of Nate's because I wanted Nikita to be intact. Replaced the lockdownd file, changed permissions to 777, and everything works perfectly. No need for tweaks to get edge or the Map's locate me feature to function. All in all, took forever, but it was well worth it. Thanks man!

Glad it could work for you, sorry it takes so long! For the 1.1.2 jailbreak, you have to force boot it first, then jailbreak. I don't have any problems after using natetrue's method, my edge and locateme work fine.

    I went from 1.1.1 - 1.1.3, no 1.1.2
I thought if you went from 1.1.1 straight to 1.1.3 you lose your default ringtones due to the DRM implementation in 1.1.2. You also miss out on the 1.1.2 processor and memory clock increase. Can you confirm if both of those, and everything else is working correctly?

Did you make sure you changed the permissions on your new lockdownd file?
Yep. I even changed permissions to what the default file is (first column and third checked, if I remember right.

dropped the file in /usr/libexec. closed itunes, disconnected, rebooted iphone (off and on), opened itunes, connected, error. Everything else went off without a hitch, possible file corruption?

    Thanks.

The method worked great- until the jailbreak 1.1.2 section. I couldn't get the phone to boot. I tried ibrickr as well as the method from the tutorial with no success. I decided to go back to regular 1.1.3 until I can get some help for this step.

    Thank you in advance!

    Got it working. Thanks psybert.

EDIT: I'm able to drop files on now (new sounds, ringtones, etc, but I can not set up email accounts (specifically gmail). After setting it up, through gmail or "other" as IMAP and then go the to mail icon just tells me "cannot get mail. no password provided for user". If I go in and put in the PW, go to the home screen, and back into the account settings the PW field is blank again. Every time I reboot the phone I have to enter the VM PW as well.

    Any Ideas?

There's another sticky by BigBoss in this forum that has an installer repo with a fix for the problem you are experiencing. I did not have that problem, but some do for whatever reason.
