    There is an icy update here! Three icy updates and still no cydia
    Give it time. Icy has already been coded for 3.0 and is just being updated, Saurik has a lot of work, but Im sure he will get it done...

    As far as all those Icy updates, I'm sure RipDev would like nothing better then to regain their crown that Installer lost when 2.0 came out and Cydia trounced all over it.

    I know Jay is working hard on it. No one here has too much patience. We couldn't wait till this summer for 3.0!

    nobody is thinking that maybe he's wathing for beta 3 to see if there any changes... I think that it will be a lot of work for nothing if after he upgrade all his apps and cydia, beta 3 changes all codes and he has to start all over again!because if apple is gona do the 2 weeks beta upgrade, it's almost due... just a thought...

    What about downgrading if I upgrade. Do I have the option to return to 2.2.1?

    yes you do. but remember that if you are unlocked on a 3g you will be screwed because it will upgrade your baseband

    Did SBSettings ever get upgraded so that it would work with 3.0. I think I miss it more than anything

    Thanks! Im gonna try it this weekend. As long as i know i can downgrade.
    Im not unlocked and dont care about that. Im also not a registered beta tester. The only thing that im wondering about is how the baseband will effect my upgrading and downgrading...
    Thanks again

    We have been playing with it. None of our apps we anticipate will take advantage of it but we are playing with some test apps that do use it. Its pretty cool.

    I know we are all impatient but I hate Icy. I can't wait for Cydia.

    I run a 64 bit system and could not get iutilities to work but I founf a different way around it.

    After the jailbreak open iphonebrowser and navigate to /system/Library/CoreServices/

    There you will see a SystemVersion.plist. Open that up with what ever you use to open plist files. I use Notepad++. You will see this.

    Code:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd">
    <plist version="1.0">
    <dict>
    	<key>ProductBuildVersion</key>
    	<string>7A259g</string>
    	<key>ProductCopyright</key>
    	<string>1983-2009 Apple Inc.</string>
    	<key>ProductName</key>
    	<string>iPhone OS</string>
    	<key>ProductVersion</key>
    	<string>3.0</string>
    	<key>ReleaseType</key>
    	<string>Beta</string>
    </dict>
    </plist>
    Change where it says beta to public. Upload it back to your phone in the same place. Reboot your phone, plug it into iTunes and all should be well.
