I need to open the 018-4944-006.dmg file from the 3.0 beta 4 IPSW file. I just need to grab a few files from the DMG. No, I don't want anyone else to upload it for me.

I tried opening it, and I get a "Enter password to access 018-4944-006.dmg" box. What do I do? My password won't work...

How come iTunes updated my iPhone to beta 4 from beta 3 without any problems? Plus, the iPSW file was downloaded directly from Apple.

You would need to decrypt the ramdisk .dmg file using something like xpwntool before you can extract it. Unfortunately, the 3.0 .dmg files (since Beta 2) have been using a new compression method that's only available in Snow Leopard for now(at least that's what I heard). I have successfully decrypted and extracted the ramdisk .dmg on Windows using xpwntool but most of the files are empty, 0 byte files(the baseband update being one of them, which is what I was after).
