You not going to be able to downgrade to 2.2.1 without getting an error. Your going to have get the error, then do a force restore and update at the same time.

That error is normal.

oh ok, ive never downgraded before..ive got it in dfu mode & i got the error message from itunes..where do i go from here?

anyone getting a message in itunes after updating saying can not reach the server or something? Could be from an overload?

I'm getting an error saying itunes store can't be reached, I guess alot of people are downloading at the same time?

Unless you are on another carrier, AT&T will not release MMS cap. until later in the summer.
