After Jailbreaking, it seems my iPhone battery drains rapidly now, what could be the problem? It was jailbroken before that in 3.0 and it was fine.

Same here (3.0.1 to 3.1.2 with Blackra1n). 100% drain over the course of 5 hours with moderate web activity. Never drained that quickly before. Not sure what's going on.

Over on the official Apple support forums there is a huge thread (1500+ replies) on battery life. One thing that seems to help some people is to fully discharge your battery. Just run it till your iPhone turns off, then fully charge it (leave it plugged in for 4-8 hours). There may have been/be an issue with the battery indicator reports incorrectly. The full power cycle seemed to fix some peoples run time issues.

Well my battery ran out after not much more use than I usually do (gets around 60% after school), it died while I was at my friends house a couple hours later, charged it to full (not all at one time because we moved a couple times), and still seems to have that problem, but right now it has been stuck on 44% for awhile. But it's nice to know I'm not the only one with that problem

It's just bugs on apps from cydia not the jailbreak program give it time for the devolper to fix the issue and cydia.

My jailbroken iPhone 3gs 3.1.2 just died in 2 hours. And that was only moderate use. The problem with the battery dying is that it takes forever for my iPhone to reboot. Lots of soft rebooting for about 10 min, and it will finally turn back on.

I'm on 3.1. I just got my 3GS. But it dies over the course of about 6 hours or gets pretty low.

Well, I'm currently in the process of restoring/rejailbreaking my iphone. If the battery issue is still horrendous, I plan to restore again and hit up Apple.

    To be continued...

I'm having the same issue with my 3GS 32GB with Blackra1n on 3.1.2

It was okay at first, but after a week I noticed the battery drained rapidly one day.

Now after resetting, restoring, and everything in between; it still drains!! I don't know what else to do!

I backed up all my apps using Chronous and PkgBackUp. I performed a system restore using iTunes. I restored to new 3.1.2, jailbroke using Blackra1n and my 32 gig 3GS battery life is much improved. I ran te battery down to about 5%, recharged to full 100% overnight using the wall charger. I almost never use the 3G network, as that always kills the battery. Stick with edge and wifi ( when avail). My battery life is almost 2x as good.

    Hope this helps...

I never had a problem with battery life on 3G before. I would always get 2 days use out of my phone, and that's with iPod, Safari, Tweetdeck, and text message usage...With 3G on! Now I try to use it less than I have before and the battery is at 20% by the end of the day. It's ridiculous.

I figured out the battery issue. It is mobilesubstrate. The mobilesubstrate itself isn't defective, it's something about the installation order. I deleted all my jailbroken apps and I was still having battery issues as you guys described above. I then went to mobilesubstrate and reinstalled it. Battery is back to normal. I got 12 hours from my charge today.
