if you got it in october then you have the old iBoot that doesn't require tethering...not sure if it harmed anything by you telling it you had the new version or not..but if you can restart without tethering and everything else seems okay then i would think you are fine...i might be wrong and if i am someone will let us know...

You need to find the iBoot version to tell for sure. Use the search function on the forum, there should be a guide on how to find it somewhere.

The old and good iBoot is 359.3 the new and not so good iBoot is 359.3.2

Afterwards, you can check back here and say which one it was.

dhamien is correct...you definitely need to verify which iBoot you have...guess i need to learn to add better before i go flying off at the mouth about which iBoot you have

Whatever the bootrom is, your choice won't mess anything up. If it's the new bootrom, you chose the right option and if it's an old bootrom, you can use a custom firmware to fix it.

It's a little unclear to me, as to whether your phone is actually working now and you've rebooted since, and having to run redsn0w or not.

Well, you're asking if you messed your phone up, right? The answer is no, at least not permanently.

No, you can't use the 3.1.3 file to restore to 3.1.2
