I have completely reformated my 3gs with my custom image that gives a gb of free space for the operating system. I intentionally stayed away from rock due to the issues going on last week. I just noticed that I have 417mb of free space on /var. Is this normal or something that will slowly dwindle with installed apps? Why aren't the apps being installed on the 11gb of free space on the other partition?

    Thanks as always!

no takers? just a little bit of advice please

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

so why do i have such little space on /var? Is it only specific things like themes going to that directory? I noticed that it had moved when I downloaded some new themes. Any help is greatly appreciated! As I stated originally, I have no rock on my phone at all. Only Cydia!

You have over 11gb on var! On your root partition "on /" you have 417 mb.

Thanks! Why does this number get smaller? Do apps get installed on this or just themes? What can I expect to see with more apps installed, etc in the future?

Because when you install apps, themes, music, videos, ect. It gos on /var thus making the number of avalible mb's go down.

what exactly goes on the "root" partition? i've witnessed it decrease in size recently with a new theme. Shouldn't this go on /var where there is over 11gb's of free space.
