There are no options to play around with redsn0w for iphone 2g (version 0.7.2 or 0.9.4 for firmware 3.x.x)...

Before this boot problem, I hit "update all" for my regular apps through the apple app store on my iphone. While my apps were updating, I tried to reply to a txt message I received. My phone froze on the txt message screen at first, I hit home & power button a few times. It made it back to the screensaver screen w/ mp3 player buttons up top but froze again. I finally did a hard reset, screen went all white at some point. Iphone restarted, apple logo showed up and it's been stuck and apple logo & shutdown ever since.

I actually had something like this, the device would boot up, but it would hang on the lock screen after 2 seconds. I was able to ssh though...

BTW do you see a spinning wheel (like when you are respringing) JUST before the boot fails??

probably a RAM issue... bring it to the genius bar. They don't care if you have a jailbroken device... I told them that and they wanted me to jailbreak their i4 so...

Just a dumb idea: Try UPDATING in itunes. it wipes the root partition, but not /var/mobile/

try running redsn0w on it with various combinations of buttons.

If worse comes to worse, what will you lose?

You Can fix tour phone and get it to boot! Do the Ssh ramdisk method to get "into" your phone first.

I got the phone to boot!!! After getting into the phone using te ssh ramdisk, I had someone in an irc chat that*moved the contents of*/Library/MobileSubstrate/DynamicLibraries to another folder, and the phone booted!!!! He asked me what I updated in Cydia, as we could probably nuke the items, but i couldn't remember, and then I asked why can't we just wipe it all out, and he liked my suggestion and it worked!

I think this would work for anyone with apple logo freezing issue after updating Cydia programs! We may have broke some ground here! I must have booted the phone 80 times and as soon as I moved that stuff out, it booted!

Dunno if anyone already mentioned, but I struggled for days with the same issues until I stumbled across a post to delete wifi sync. Once gone from my Mac, I was able to update/restore.

Also - if you believe that your iPhone was mid-restore and did not complete, start Redsn0w and select, JUST BOOT. Then manually put your phone into DFU and let Redsn0w do the rest. It recognized my failed jailbreak attempt and did the rest. Then i was able to restore normally through iTunes.

3.) Which jailbreak did you use = snowbreeze or greenpoison
4.) Do you use windows or mac. = windows

stuck on apple logo w/face - does the swirly thing, then frozen.

    what do I do?

You probably need to restore it but should use custom firmware to preserve your baseband so that you can still unlock. First step is figuring out what SHSH you have.
