I really hope someone responds. I have an iPhone, and I tried to downgrade from 1.1.3 to 1.1.1, and now, it's stuck on the apple logo. WTF!? It didn't restore or anything, it just kept telling me that the phone couldn't restore.

Have you tried to put it in DFU mode, and then shift-click restore to 1.1.1?

Why are you downgrading to 1.1.1?! 1.1.4 is the most stable firmware and all apps are compatible.

Most of the problems people have with later firmware is due to the fact that they UPGRADE instead of RESTORE... and then re-unlock/jailbreak. This causes many problems with stability because not all the system files are replaced when upgrading and then a different, faster, and easier method of jailbreak is used which writes completely different code to the phone than the original jailbreak (Dev team soft upgrade VS ziphone).

So unless the steps involved to jailbreak a new firmware involve starting from a previous version and then upgrading, it is always best to do a RESTORE before attempting the new and improved jailbreak/unlock method.

Yeah I've got the most insubordinate phone ever. I don't want to hijack this post, I have one here. Never done an upgrade.

    Would youtube work on 1.1.4?

Youtube works on my busted *** 1.1.4 phone now. They are right, make sure you hold down shift when you click restore if on windows. Then Ziphone is just one click away. (or iPlus, dunno who won the vote yet.)

I've found that applications run much more stable after a restore to 1.1.4, zIphone jailbreak/activate/unlock, then install Cydia package manager. After that install the fake BSD subsystem through installer and away you go per normal.

I've been all over the board with my iPhone and firmware. With the exception of the natetrue jailbreak on 1.1.2 I've never had any problems with youtube or overall stability. Since Cydia and having an actual BSD subsystem 1.1.4 is rock solid for me.
