u can restore by pointing itunes to sauriks server , then shift(option)restore, choose firmware and enjoy...there is a tutorial on the guides sections somewhere

Yes, use tiny umbrella, it can check what SHSH each phone has by choosing each firmware under advanced and pressing save my shsh.

tiny umbrella shows 4.0.2 but i know i saved em when they were 4.0.1
and there is no jailbreak for 4.0.2

also i jailbroke my phone when they were still signing 4.0.1 and had cydia save them
how do i find out where the 4.0.1 blobs are?

Do you know when you jailbroke and asked cydia to save your SHSH?

Have you tried checking on tinyumbrella asking cydia if you have the 4.0.1 blobs??
If so and you failed you could just try editing the host file then.
