Recently I updated my iPod Touch to iOS 4.1 knowing that the update and jailbreak had worked on my 3GS, but I cannot enter DFU mode to jailbreak the iPod. I have tried 3 different computers, 2 different USB cables. Also, whenever I try to enter DFU from a booted state, the iPod just takes a screen shot.

Whenever I boot the iPod into recovery mode (via RecBoot or limera1n), I can get it to power cycle but when I hold down the home button, it just reboots to show the recovery logo and does not enter DFU mode.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If your ipod already has 4.1, then just jailbreak with Limera1n and follow the instructions.

There is no such thing that you cannot get into dfu mode. It is probably you didn't do it right.
Are you trying to put it into manual dfu or geohot dfu mode ?

I have actually seen a few devices with this issue Yeow. Instead of starting the dfu process it takes a screenshot when you try to press the two buttons together. They can be a bit of a pain but you should be able to enter dfu, just keep trying. You can also try from a starting point of being off first. Also make sure the device is plugged in when doing this.

If you want to put it into manual DfU :
    Plug your ipod in.
Hold both button for 10 secs until it goes off.
Then release the Power button but keep holding the Home button until you hear a beep on your pc and the screen is black.

In actual fact I have tried multiple different times with Limera1n and Greenpois0n, both of which do NOT work. Limera1n puts the iPod into recovery and then asks you for DFU, of which the iPod will not go into, no matter what method I try or what type of DFU mode. Besides that, I have done exactly the same process for many of my friends with none of them having this issue (all 2nd and 3rd gen Touch)
