With all the evasion-buzz and realizing that at least one app I need isn't supported for 5.1.1, I was thinking I should upgrade. I am however unsure how to go about it.

First off, my specs: iPhone 4 | BB 01.59.00 | IOS 5.1.1 | IMEI Unlocked.

AFAIK, I can't use evasion since it's only compatible with 6.0 through 6.1. I forgot why, but something tells me that I should try and hold on to my current baseband, so I haven't just gone and upgraded regularly via iTunes.

I've done a backup in iTunes and backed up my Cydia-shiznit via PKGBackup. Will I have to find the proper software to upgrade from 5.1.1 to 6.0 and then from 6.0 to 6.1 or is there a quicker, more reasonable way?

Thanks in advance, any input it highly appreciated.

    Kind regards

If your IMEI unlocked ya don't have to worry about ya baseband. Put ya phone into dfu mode connect it to iTunes and just update it. Then it will bring ya to 6.1 which is the latest version for now and then jailbreak with the new tool

hi guys, i dont know if this is the right section but here goes anyway, ive had my iphone 4s jailbroke since getting it and wanted to do the new jailbreak on it but as im still on 5.1.1 it tells me to upgrade to 6.1 before starting it. my main problem is that when it tried to do this my itunes says it also needs upgrading to itunes 11, but im currently running itunes 10 as i have previously gone to 11 but didnt like what they have done with it and prefer mine set up the way it was with itunes 10 so i downgraded back to 10 again. so what i would like to know is, if i upgrade again to itunes 11 then get 6.1 put on my iphone then jailbreak it. could i then downgrade back to itunes 10 and my iphone still work properly with the jailbreak, sync, etc? really a bit of a novice when it comes to all this stuff so appreciate all the help, thanks.
