Connect your phone to iTunes, Check the boxes you want synced. And click sync.

You check the ones you want synced. So if you want your contacts synced, check the box that says sync contacts.

hey i had the same question how can i transfer all my contacts FROM IPHONE TO PC. In iTunes (on Windows) i only can see option "Sync contacts from". But there is no optiont "Sync contacts to". From some advices somehow i transfered my contacts to windows adress book. BUt in my phone contacts i had like 3-4 emails per one contact and when i synced to adress book i got only one email transfered and one phone number... so next time when i synced with windwos adress book i had only one email where i had 4 before... is that any other way to sync contacts other than to windows adress book? SO that i can sync them back after restore. Thanks for help

Or you can backup the folder AddressBook in /var/root/library/.

why would I lie? Outlooks has three spots for emails per contact so all emails I had on iPhone transferred to outlook. Same with numbers. Is there anything that sounds unbelievable???

Backup your phonebook as .wab file (windows address book), open outlook express, then open your .wab from outlook, then just sync in iTunes......
    Just that bro

if you dont have outlook 2003 or higher, or outlook at all you can sync it with Windos Address Book (wont sync contacts' photos though)

Win abbressbook or outlook has only one field "mobile". When it syncs contacts with several "mobile"'s - it's just ignore second, third and other "mobile" labels.

Well, to a certain degree, itunes does backups automatically. In fact, iTunes makes a backup of your entire /var/root/library and /var/mobile/library when it tethers to your iPhone, and updates it whenever it syncs. When you then restore your phone, iTunes then asks you whether its a new phone or your old one. If you select your old one it automatically copies all of your preferences back on to your phone.

Sorry to go on about this.

I'm really nervous about jailbreaking my 8gb iPhone (1.1.4), with AT&T. Using windows XP.

There's just so many apps that look like they will be very useful to me.

I want to backup all my contacts first though. (I don't have Outlook)

What I want to know is how can I make sure that my contacts will be backed so that I can transfer them to the iPhone after I jailbreak it?
