I have a huge problem with the calling functionality on the iphone. whenever i hold the phone too close to my cheeks (or my ears) i usually hit the mute opr loudspeaker button on the touch screen. I tried to turn that off during the call but it just disconnects me if i put the phone on sleep, and puts the call on hold when i push the home button to get to the springboard. Any solution for that????Any way to hide the 6 buttons during the call???

the screen should automatically go black in call when it goes near your head. its got a sensor at the top near the earpiece that turns off the screen when your in a call and its near your head

Try Putting your finger over the sensor above the earpiece while in a call, If that doesn't make your screen go black, if you've modded your phone in anyway should do a restore and send it back to apple because like Jam said the screen is supposed to turn off when you but the phone to your head (or when the sensor is covered)
