hey there... I'm the *** that dropped his iPhone down 2 flights on his fire escape and lost about a quarter inch of functionality.... (exactly where most 3rd party apps place important buttons.. or otherwise known as "the third name on contact list" spot)

    any tips?

Apple says I can pay $200 for a replacement... meh.

what do you think? any thoughts?

Pay 200 for a replacement. Dont buy those replace screen tool things, They tend to lose there sense of touch, And ends up being a waste of time..

Hmm. $200 to replace your screen or $200 for a new G3. You make the call

yeah might as well go with the 3G. Especially considering the fact that the 8gig iphone was 400 recently meaning you'd be paying an extra 50%.

Go with the 3G if your service provider decides to let you.

(if they've changed anything within the past 30 days you can legally cancel your contract. maybe that's the way to go for you dude)
