you can make ringtones solely with itunes, there is absolutely no need for a seperate app.

I agree with with cpjr, Iringer is excellent. Free app that let's you preview your tone and do things like fade and other effects, then auto uploads it to itunes for you, awesome.

Yeah, if you buy a song from the iTunes store you can pay 99 cents and turn it into a ringtone.

Also georgc if you use garageband to make your ringtones you can just put the volume of the track to max to make it louder
Everytime you dont press THANKS god kills an iPhone(so please save zee the iPhones)

honestly, how do you people not know about this.

if you right click any track in your library, get info, options, you can change the start and stop time.

say you want 0:25.678 seconds to 0:54.453 seconds, you just enter those start times.

go to itunes, preferences and change the importing code to AAC.

right click your song, convert to AAC, when it converts it will be your 'X' amount seconds long of the song you want. open file in finder, change the extension to m4r instead of m4a.

now double click the file, and it will open in your ringtones tab.

no need for any app or programme, no need for any money, easy, simple, free and all you need is itunes.

    thanks.

I've tried the iTunes way, not a fan. With sound forge, I can be really picky and adjust the ringtone to exactly how I want it

you can do exactly that in itunes, just tinker, convert, tinker, convert till you get it right?

i used audacity before itunes supported making ringtones, but once you get the hang of itunes, it honestly is all you need.
