My upgrade to FW2.1 didn't go smoothly. The long and the short of it was that my phone got stuck in some sort of infinite loop while restoring all my settings from my iTunes backup, leaving me with no option except to trash all the backups in order to get my phone to finally come alive.

Anyhow, settings are easilly reset, but I also lost all my notes, something that IS a big issue for me since I had alot of old ones related to work, phone numbers, etc etc.

However, when I upgraded from 1.1.1 to 2.0.2 a month or so back I did make a manual backup via SSH and I still have such. I was hopefull that I could just SSH into my iPhone and copy the notes.db file from my backup back onto the iPhone, but after several attempts at such it appears that that's not gonna work, or I'm doing it wrong somehow.

Any suggestions on how I might go about using this old backup .db file to restore the notes on (now 2.1) iPhone?

    Thanks everyone.

I've had notes woes too. Many of mine were related to permissions.

    Are you putting notes.db in
Var/mobile/library/notes/ that's where it belongs and not in var/root/etc.

Ok, sure enough I had uploaded to var/root instead of var/mobile, but even when I went back and put it in the right spot, still no notes.

    Any other ideas?
